A few useful answers · Berkshire & beyond

Good to know.

A little more about how The Chasing Pack Collective works—and what it is here to be.

01Are we a running club?

We’re a community-led space for dedicated, performance-focused runners. Most people here have their own training plans, coaches and clubs. We sit alongside that setup; we don’t replace it with a fixed weekly programme or prescribed training. WhatsApp is where runners connect and coordinate if a session lines up; the Strava club shares the activity feed.

02Where are you based?

We’re based across Berkshire and the surrounding areas. There isn’t one clubhouse or single start point. The WhatsApp community connects runners across the area, and the race calendar lists independent local events.

03Are there entry requirements?

There’s no formal application or cut-off time, but this isn’t a general “run for everyone” group. It’s designed for dedicated runners who train consistently and are serious about improving. Think upwards of 60 km a week over five or more days, often chasing sub-3:00 marathon, sub-85 half, sub-38 10K or sub-18 5K. Those are guideposts for the ethos, not a membership test. Individual races have their own entry rules, set by their organisers.

04Do you provide coaching or training plans?

No. Most runners already have their own plan, coach or club. The Collective sits alongside those, giving you a community to connect through WhatsApp and follow on Strava—not another programme to follow.

05How does sharing a session work?

Use the WhatsApp community to say what you have planned and see if anyone wants to join—for example: “I’ve got 3 × 5K with 1K floats today—anyone want to join in?” There’s no central session plan, no obligation to attend and no fixed weekly schedule. The website calendar is for races, not training meetups.

06What is the community like beyond training?

The conversation goes beyond finding company for a workout. In the WhatsApp community, runners chat about kit and gear, races, and what’s happening across the running scene, as well as sharing sessions. The Strava club is there to follow the activity feed. You can also use our contact form to start a conversation.

07Is this only for people who race?

You don’t need to have a race booked. The focus is on dedicated, performance-minded running and sharing the training behind your goals, whether or not you’re building toward a particular event right now.
